The ECHOLOT project kicks off with two consortium meetings

Although the ECHOLOT consortium has only been operational for a few months, it has already held two meetings, demonstrating strong engagement and enthusiasm for shaping the future of cultural heritage data in Europe.
The official kick-off meeting of the ECHOLOT project took place online on 14 and 15 January. It provided an excellent opportunity to introduce the consortium partners, allocate tasks and draw up the project’s roadmap for the next 36 months. It also allowed us to review all the necessary details to ensure that everyone is ready to start work.

The second meeting of the consortium was held in Bilbao, Spain, from 9 to 11 March. Hosted by the University of the Basque Country, the meeting had two main objectives. Firstly, it was a natural follow-up to the online kick-off meeting, providing an opportunity to introduce the people working on each work package in person and to address all outstanding issues, enabling effective work to begin. Secondly, the meeting was conceived as a requirements-gathering workshop. The workshop focused on gathering input from the third-party participants of the case study and included user-centred design activities such as co-designing user personas, user stories and journey maps.

The variety of topics covered during the three-day meeting enabled everyone involved in the case studies to gain an in-depth understanding of their colleagues’ roles. This helps the consortium maintain the collaborative approach that is essential for success in ECHOLOT’s complex projects.
